This heavy-duty basket is handcrafted from high-quality water hyacinth and shaped by a bent metal frame into an uncommon octagonal silhouette. Alternating lighter and darker natural fibers create an attractive zig zag stripe that gives the piece a distinct, artisanal character. Integrated handles make the basket practical for use as a laundry hamper, plant cover, or general storage solution. The basket arrives in plastic-free packaging and is produced under fair-trade conditions.

Materials and origin:

- Main material: water hyacinth (tropical aquatic plant). Leaves are removed and thick stems are sun-dried for 3–7 days before weaving, producing a plentiful and sustainable raw material.
- Other material: metal frame for shape and reinforcement.
- Production site: handmade in Java, Indonesia. We partner with local adult artisans, ensure fair pay and safe working conditions, and maintain regular on-site contact to uphold quality and ethical standards.

Care and use tips:

- For decorative plants, place a waterproof tray or liner inside to protect the basket from moisture and soil.
- Keep away from prolonged direct sunlight and heavy moisture to preserve color and fiber strength.
- Dust gently with a soft brush or wipe with a dry cloth. Avoid soaking or machine washing to maintain shape and finish.
